Autumn is an important season in the wine sector, not only because it’s harvest season and the work of a whole year is coming to a close picking the fruits, but also because it is the time of year the wine guide books come out. Some of them have already come out and some will be coming out in the next few days. We have chosen 10 out of the most famous.

Slow Wine of Slow Food

Slow Wine is the most sold of the guide books available in Italy. It’s put together thanks to the work of the 200 Slow Food collaborators who, every year, visit companies and get to know winemakers from all over Italy, gathering a historical-cultural heritage that makes us truly unique and proud. There are two new features for the 2017 edition: the opening of the east area, with two wineries of Collio and Slovenian Karst and the publication, of a list of 100 places (wine bars, enoteca, restaurants and taverns) listed in the guide, telling you where you can purchase and drink wine.

The 2017 Espresso Wines of Italy guide book, as presented on 20th October at the Leopolda of Firenze Station with a maxi wine tasting experience was created not only for those of the wine sector but also for a more  heterogeneous public, for “the curious enthusiast and the prudent consumer”. Carefully selected by Andrea Grignaffini and Antonio Paolini, it consists of a central core of 120 labels sorted by regions with 3 rankings: 100 wines to drink straight away, the 100 wines to preserve and let approve with time  and the 100 wines to buy, for the excellent quality/price ratio.
