Refreshing, thirst-quenching and easy to make. Watermelon Slush is a sweet summer excellence. You will immediately feel as if you are on holiday when you take a sip of this drink, even if you are in reality sitting comfortably on your sofa at home. Here is the recipe to make this special slush with an extra touch of some rosy bubbles of our Sparkling rose wine.
- half a watermelon
- sugar (about 1/5 the weight of the watermelon)
- 1 lime
- 1 bottle of sparkling rose wine
It is really easy to make this slushy drink with watermelon.
First, cut the watermelon into slices keeping only the pulp and removing the seeds. Weigh how much you have got out of it and taste it in order to understand how sweet and ripe it is. By tasting it first you can then regulate the amount of sugar you will need, which should be about 1/5 of the weight of the pulp. Mix together the watermelon, sugar, lime juice and 1 glass of sparkling rose wine in an electric mixer. Pour the mixture into a jug or a container that can go in the freezer, then place in the freezer for at least 2 hours. Stir the mixture every half an hour with a wooden spoon in order to crush the ice. Take it out of the freezer 10 minutes before serving and stir it well with a fork in order to get the traditional grainy texture.
